Short Sword Appearance

I am not sure this is a bug problem or a CEP problem ...

I have a short sword that was found in a loot chest. The problem is that when I equip the sword it appears like a big bag on my hand. I have gone to Klauses weapon craft station and have gone through, I think, ever possible combination with no change to the swords appearance. It is a VERY good sword ... +17, +5 dex, on hit sleep and +5 vamp ... I would hate to lose such a fine weapon. But man does it look ugly. Any suggestions as to what I can do to alter it's appearance back to a vanilla short sword?
