Trying not to spoil anything, so I might be a bit unclear.... Anyway:

There's a low-level boss somewhere that drops a fairly good weapon. When I killed it with an edged weapon I got different properties on the drop than when I used a hammer.

Is there some kind of randomness to that drop, so I need to go there again if I want another result?
Or, is it that, the property you get from an edged weapon kill is different from a blunt weapon kill?

I assume you are talking about keen? Edges weapons from that boss drop with keen while non-edge weapons, say hammer or rapier, do not get keen.

I assume you are talking about keen? Edges weapons from that boss drop with keen while non-edge weapons, say hammer or rapier, do not get keen.

Yup. I get keen+mass crit d6 for edged weapons and mass crit 2d6 for non-edged weapons. This is actually better, since it's easy to forge keen onto the hammer.
