Do you lose golem if you reset and don't pick 5 wiz lvls?

Basically what the title ask. Was wondering if people level 5 lvls in wiz or whatever, make the golem, reset without the requirements, then still go around using it. My guess is this would be considered an exploit, but wanted to check.
