A strange discovery (session 1 RP campaign Sunday night 8pm eastern)

The warden of Blackstone Keep was concerned. Everywhere he looked, the monsters of the land seemed to be better armed and armored than ever before. He knew his own forces were not equipped to take on these increasingly powerful adversaries, so he decided to call upon the adventurers from his own keep to help.

The adventurers were excited at the prospect of a new challenge and agreed to help the warden. Not far outside of the keep they faced kobolds and fought their way to the kobolds cave.

They soon discovered that the monsters had made deals with other orcs and goblins, who had been supplying them with powerful weapons and armor. They found much increased mining and forging activity in the caves. Soon they fought their way through and found the kobold elder. After defeating him in battle, they discovered a strange artifact. It was made of materials and metal unknown with almost god-like craftsmanship. They felt a slight vibration holding the artifact and a voice whispered in their minds "make me whole".

After fighting their way back out of the caves, they set up a camp near the entrance to rest from their efforts. It was raining and after a short time they noticed wagon tracks leading south. They followed the tracks to a wagon leaving the area. They fought the orcs and kobolds, leaving with the wagon and discovered it to be a wagon load of arms. After a fierce battle, the adventurers were able to overpower the orcs and confiscate their shipment.

The warden was relieved to know that the monsters had been stopped from further arming themselves, and he thanked the adventurers for their help. He was even more relieved when the adventurers presented him with the location of the weapons and armor they had intercepted. The warden dispatched a heavy patrol to seize the wagon.

He was so pleased with the adventurers' work that he gave them each a generous reward and a house to spend the night in. And even arranged for Foxmore to examine the strange artifact they found. So they set out to visit Foxmore.

After a quick hello, Foxmore casts spells to examine the artifact they found. The sheer power of the artifact knocked Foxmore to the ground. After a time, he was able to rise and unscramble his thoughts. "I was able to learn very little about the artifact, which is ancient and very powerful." He did notice some dirt in the runes and assumed the artifact had been buried. The kobolds probably unearthed it during their mining operations.

After leaving Foxmore's, a guard met the adventurers to lead them to their house for the night. They went in to rest after a hard few days of battle. It wasn't very long and a deep sleep overcame them all. After quite a time, they awoke in strange lands they had never heard of before. What and where is this small town called Homestead?

The adventurers meet two new strangers, drow from the Underdark. After a conversation, they decided to let them join the party.

While meeting the two new drow strangers in Homestead, they are approached by Jamis, a shady character who wants to buy the artifact. He offered them a hefty sum of money, but the adventurers refused, suspicious of his motives.

Annoyed, Jamis leaves, vowing to get the artifact himself. He hired a band of bandits, goblins, and orcs to do his bidding, and the adventurers soon found themselves beset by these creatures on all sides.

The adventurers fought valiantly to protect Homestead, and eventually managed to defeat the goblin shaman, who had been plaguing Homestead for months. Despite their victory, however, the attacks continued, and they were soon being hunted by bandit patrols.

The adventurers tracked down one of these patrols and managed to capture one of the Bandits. Under questioning, the Bandit revealed that Jamis was camped nearby, and that he and his men were actually from Blackstone Keep.

The adventurers immediately set out for Jamis's camp, determined to put a stop to his schemes. They attacked the camp and managed to kill all of the assailants, but Jamis escaped through a mysterious magical portal.

Who is this Jamis and does he work for another? What is the interest in this artifact?

The party in Homestead meets another halfling who seems to follow them around but not join the party. The party is asked to clear the graveyard for Homestead. On their way there, once again beset by bandits, they catch a glimpse of Jamis.

After clearing the graveyard of a foul abomination, the artifact heats up and vibrates and an ancient pillar appears. The pillar shakes the ground as it slowly sinks into the earth. Then a strange monster appears but seems to die easily.

After returning to Homestead, they notice that the artifact is gone. Accusations fly and lead to mistrust among the party and the curious halfling following them around gets the blame. Finally, the strange halfling, after intense questioning, is asked to join the party.

Not long later, the artifact mysteriously returns to the party and whispers in her mind "I had matters to attend. Make me whole". After being surprised at the artifacts' return, they agree to help Homestead with a foul gnoll problem in the old mines. They yet again seem to be hunted by the bandits on there way to Dunridge and the old mines.

They battle many gnolls and it seems the bandits are still after them even in the old mines. One of the groups goes down and is killed. The artifact brings them back from the dead and heals all their wounds, but at a price. It seems to take life energy from the one holding it to perform such a feat. Later on two more of the group is healed in the same fashion. The cost is too much and the artifact is passed to another to bear the burden.

Finally, after many battles, they come to the older section of the mines full of spiders and fight their way through to the queen spider. After a long battle to defeat the spiders, the party finds a strange gem, "Eon's Holy Gem". They have no clue what it is.

A shady character named Jamis took an interest in the artifact, his beady eyes gleaming with avarice. He lurked in shadowy corners, attempting to strike deals with the adventurers, offering them riches beyond their wildest dreams. But alas, they were not so easily swayed by his honeyed words.

Frustrated by their refusal, Jamis abandoned subtlety and attempted to pilfer the artifact. Realizing that he couldn't succeed alone, Jamis resorted to dastardly tactics by hiring a motley crew of bandits, a fearsome demon lord, and corrupt officials to eliminate the adventurers. The chase began, with thrilling battles and narrow escapes punctuating their journey.

After countless close encounters and heart-stopping skirmishes, the adventurers finally corner Jamis at his camp. With a mixture of fear and determination, they defeated him. A crumpled piece of parchment was found on Jamis' body. Curiosity overwhelmed them as they unfolded the aged document.

It appeared to be a message from the sinister mastermind himself, expressing impatience at the lack of progress from Jamis and the hired bandits, the powerful demon lord, and the corrupt officials led by Jamis. The adventurers were not alone in their desire to uncover the secrets of the artifact. A new chapter of their quest awaits them, as they vow to track down the mysterious sender and bring their treacherous scheme to light.

Determined to unravel the web of treachery around them, the adventurers set off, ready to face the perils that await them. Hope burned bright in their hearts, for they knew that the artifact held the key to their destinies.

And so, with their swords gleaming and their minds sharp, they embarked on a new adventure, prepared to overcome any obstacle that stood in their path.

In the village of Homestead. It's a cursed village, with a strange fog that cut them off from the Blackstone lands.

But, one day, the villagers noticed that their beloved Avacor had been taken prisoner by demons. Avacor, a wise old man, was the village elder and was respected by everyone. He was beloved by all, but no one knew where he had gone. The villagers searched far and wide for Avacor, but they could not find him. Everyone was worried and feared for the worst.

Then one day, a group of adventurers appeared in the village. They don't know how they got there. Hearing about Avacor, they decided to help the villagers find him. The adventurers searched the nearby plains and forests for Avacor. After days of searching, they finally find him imprisoned in an Abyssal Plain.

The adventurers fought bravely against the demons and were able to free Avacor. Avacor thanked the adventurers for rescuing him and told them that Shalnath had been questioning him about a powerful artifact.

The same artifact the adventurers found a piece of. He told them it is part of a whole. If all the fragments are united, it will unleash powerful magic. For good or evil, no one knows.
