Clues for Dragon Hunts can only be found on foot - not while mounted.

So I've been running CR 20 bounties and dragon hunts in BSK fishing for some good legendaries, and I've noticed that whenever I enter the area where the hunt is to occur while on horseback and search while mounted, I can scour the entire zone and never find a clue. But, if I enter on foot and search on foot, then the clues appear as expected.
I'm unsure if the problem is entering the zone on your mount doesn't cause the clues to spawn, or if you just simply can't see/interact with them while mounted. I need to run an additional test where enter on foot but summon my mount after and search while mounted.
