Alignment shifted

Hello everyone!
Well, I started as Lawful Good following Vor.
I changed to Lia while adventuring which took me to True Neutral.
This messed up my wanting to take a Paladin level so I figured I would talk to the beggar. He took me to Neutral Good.
Is there any way to change the Neutral to Lawful so I will be Lawful Good again to correct my mistake?

No there is not. Talk to the Dock Master to re-level your character.

Shouldn't converting deities only change alignment along the Good/Evil axis? Otherwise players will be able to mix Lawful and non-Lawful classes.

It should, but perhaps there is a situation I have overlooked.
Ok, I went and looked at the code, there is no way it shifted the Lawful axis.
