Animal Empathy is it even a thing?

i assume we can only get the bear in the wilderness in skara brea? or can we get beast from all other maps in game as well? what the point of having a ranger with Animal Empathy if its only for just one bear?

In the barbarian raid you can dominate their summons but there really isn't any other good use when your max.

There are a few animals that you could use it on here or there but like Beexlebub says it is pretty pointless sort of after level 10-12 so I would not was skill points in it less things change...
