no, we lost all our characters when it transited to EE

you buy the game on steam, install it, log on the multiplayers, bsk is in the list.
as of now, bsk doesn't require any haks or cep.

the areas have change a lot, just saying, it's still the same old bsk but with new areas or changed ones.
