Skeleton Crew - Single Use or Cool down timer?

I've seen another post where the Skeleton Crew was recently discussed as having a cool down before it can be used again. The one I obtained from Blackheart's tomb is listed as single use. Is this a problem or does another version exist later in the game that has a cool down timer on it? Thanks for any information you can share

It only has one use, but you can carry more than one.
