Socket gems and Kobolds

[TM5000]

My level 5 Monk has completed the Kobold Quest for the Warden and Honrich.

It even shows as complete in my journal, however my only available response to Honrich is, "No I haven't" when asked if it is completed.

The Warden tells me to talk to Honrich.

Next, I can't successfully add a socket gem to my toon's Gauntlets.

It shows as if it was completed, and the gem is consumed, but no additional damage when viewing the description.

Any help for these?

Warden is Kobold. Farmlands is Honrich. Complete the Farmlands quest.

I will look at the sockets.
