After several log-ins and more than 30 minutes I could not spawn the guardian.

I tested and the trigger is firing. You are probably having bad luck. Leave the area and come back, the random seed will get reset.

FYI,
I've been having a lot of difficulties spawning it also for the last 4 or 5 days, in fact, not been able to spawn it at all during that time...

It is working. Make sure you run to the hexagon and back the door.
