Death Immunity

I am wearing a helmet with death immunity yet the troglodyte cleric seem to keep killing me.

Death immunity does not work against some spells ... Especially the likes of implosion and sometimes finger of death can result in death despite immunity...

It is supposed work against fortitude base death spells, but not fear or hitpoint based ones.

He failed a fort save, so I need to know what spell it was to see.

I think it was circle of death, a spinning circle of yellow and black.

I pretty sure that circle of death is the default script, so this would be an engine bug.

"Spinning circle of yellow and black" sounds like it describes Implode, which is not classified as a death spell - it just happens to result in death

Implode is very distinctive from circle of death most noteable is the vortex from implode where as circle of death is more of an aura and lasts longer...

Death is also not instant with implode as you either have to fail your fortitude roll against the spell or roll the dreaded "1" (auto fail)...

If it is implosion then that would explain why the death immunity doesn't work. I usually don't play a spell caster so not up on what they look like and a dumb fighter isn't going to know what spell it is either.

The Trog Cleric's cast implosion with a DC of 27!! I think the old Mind Flayers in the UD cast implosion with a high DC. IMHO the Trog Cleric DC should be about 20 considering where that area sits, between Mino's and Eastern wastes. A fort role vs 27 is one tough role!

I had the same thing just a minute ago. Trog Cleric: 27 DC fort save against death, so I thought I'd be OK with Death Ward active, but no. Looked like implosion.

Death Immunity does not apply to Implosion.
