Mayor Kobold Quest

I think this quest is broken. I have 3 times went to bottom of mines and killed the Kobold leader. He doesn't drop any item to turn in to the mayor nor does the mayor recognize that I have killed him.

Ok, I got the quest again from the mayor after you reset it. I then killed the kobold leader and it didn't advance the quest to go back to the mayor.

I created a new character and when I did the Mayor Kobold quest it did the same thiing. I killed the Kobold leader and it didn't advance the quest to go back to the mayor. The may has several quest to give out but will not give them until the previous one is completed.
