Disappearing Ring?

I received a very nice drop in the southern wastes, a Ring of Nine Lives. My question is whether there is a script to remove such items, for now the ring is gone from my inventory. I know I put the ring into one of my bags, checked twice that I did and now it's gone. Any thoughts on this? Is this ring too powerful? But why is it still in the treasure chests if it is?? Oh, I have tried every which way but Sunday to try and inadvertently drop the ring while placing it in a bag but nada, anyway I did check to make sure it was in the bag. I am bummed out!

I have found a few of those rings and they always disappear from my inventory as well. Just thought the login script was removing them and that there was a reason for removing them
