Wiping off the spittle that had landed on his face, Galen grimaced a bit. It was mind boggling thinking about the last time these men had bothered to brush their teeth. Not to say all street scum do not brush their teeth, but these particular seemed to skip on some of their personal hygienic practices.

He looked over to Ki'kai just in time to be a bit taken back by the changing color of her eyes. Perhaps the crew's stories about her were not far off the mark. When she winked to him, he replied with an awkward smile.

... but then he felt one of the scumbags come near him, and sensed the arm coming around his side!

He thrust his elbow back with impressive force, jamming it into his attacker's rib cage. The man yelped in surprise, and thrust his dagger forward. Galen was already twisting out of the way, and the dagger slashed through the knight's loose tunic.

Galen instinctively stuck out with his hammer, jabbing the bloke in the gut with the head of the weapon. As the blow hit, the man let out an Oof! and doubled over... just in time to get cracked in the jaw with a warhammer as Galen forced an upward swing with the weapon.

The noise and movement caused the other three to spur into action, all readying their weapons and jumping forward at Galen. The knight twirled the handle of his hammer in his palm as he took a cautious step backward towards Ki'Kai and her mutt from the Hells.

He began muttering under his breath in some ancient tongue, the words flowing fluidly together like that of a poem, or maybe a prayer.

"Get the bloody bastard!" hissed the leader of the group.

Galen moved.

He moved so quickly that it was hard to see where he went! One of the men cried out as a warhammer was smashed into his gut. The lanky leader jumped back as he caught what was happening. The third, the half-orc, snarled as he lashed forward at Galen with his spiked chain.

Galen threw himself to the side, landing on his left foot, then dashed forward, lowering his shoulder to ram right into the oversized lug. The knight had caught the half-orc off balance, and as the heavy chains slammed into the cobble stones, the half-orc was knocked off his feet and the wind knocked from his chest.

"Bloody 'ell! What sorts of black magic is this?" The lanky leader sneered, as he watched what happened. He had never seen his orcish companion toppled like that before... and he had never seen a man move that quickly before... unless... he was using hastened magic!

Galen approached the scumbag leader. The leader slashed out with a dagger, and the knight leaned his left side back to avoid being hit. Galen grabbed the lanky man's wrist, twisted hard, and disarmed him before shoving him down to the ground.

Galen's magic faded as white wisps disappeared into the air. Galen's expression was that of stone cold seriousness as the knight reached down and picked the lanky man back up to his feet, holding him by the collar.
