Trying to link a picture from a URL to be my forum avatar...

I get this general error:

Unable to upload file

Any help on translation or advice?

Where is your image being hosted? I have read of similar problems with users of photobucket. Have you tried it on Imageshackyet? (You can try copying the "direct link to image" URL to the "Upload Avatar from a URL" field. )
