Creating Scrolls

Driller,
I have a question about creating scrolls. When selecting a scroll to create and adding the spell to be cast. There is a selection that says Add Item Property. There are no editing properties of that spell. Is this something that a custom script would have to be attached to said scroll to add item properties?
