How important is power attack for DD? Could i take great fort instead?
Besides, you can't use def. stance or expertise mode and power at the same time so...

Not really that important, and you could take Great Fort instead. The build gets too many pre-Epic feats to know what to do with really; I just went with power attack for a bit of extra damage early on.
