strength just not adding up!

i have 26 naked str. and items that give me: plus 5, plus 4, plus 2, plus 2 but my strength is only adding up to 38

! and when i cast bull's str. nothing happens!

whats up with this? and when i take all my str. adding items off and put them back on they arent giving me the full str. but are only adding it up so it goes to 38! iam very confuesed and if anyone has any answers please respond

Only +12 strength applies, no matter what your character sheet says.

The maximum bonus that can be added to any one attribute is 12. This can be from items or potions but the max it 12. That is why you can only get 38 from a base of 26.
