I've heard that it's just an old trigger which hasn't yet been removed. So it should be completely ignored. ;)

Precisely that. An old quest that has been removed just not the message trigger.

Why not? I wanted to as well.

I just thought it was related to a higher level quest I had not reveiced yet.

The Nachtwulf term "Nachtwulf" is derived from the german words "Nacht" or "Night" and "wulf" or "wolf". Meaning, it should probably only appear during the night. (Just thought I'd throw that in, even though it has little relevance.)

The nachtwulf used to be an approx. level 3 were-wolf-creature that would appear in the pasture. Once killed, it would place an amulet that would allow a character to get the feat "knockdown" for free. They spawned in the center of the pasture about a second after the last one was killed, so that means an amulet (which would sell for about 3000 gold) would be dropped every 5 seconds.

Of course, people made abuse of this, and once Driller caught wind of it, he changed the nachtwulf. Apparently, the nachtwulf only comes out when the trigger is fired.

But I have never seen the new version of the nachtwulf. There must be some sort of bug or something in the script. It seems the nachtwulves have been driven to extinction.

We ran to the sound of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

Yeah.. me too..

Its annoying as hell.. because I figured thats where it would be and I have spent HOURS (honest) camping the pasture to find this Nactwulf...and I never have.

Whenever the heartbeat message about it comes up.. I run there.. no wulf. :-(

I actually saw one of the amulets in Vogon's recently.. and I wondered where that came from.. never saw it before!!!

I've also seen and bought belts of hill and fire gian strength in Vogon's.. and I do not know from where they originate...

Zac got it pretty much right, except that it was about a CR 9 or 10, which would basically terrorize the lowbs. It would only come out at night, but night falls without warning in NWN. If I get a wild hair, I might just spawn one now and then, but dont hold yer breath :P
