EVENT: Jackals
Rumors have begun to circulate about some strange creature that appears out of a bolt
of lightning and attacks all who come near. Supposedly this creature is part dog and
part man, but moves as fast as lightning and is nay unbeatable. While some say they
have been able to damage it, they simply could not do enough damage to stop it's
killing before it mysteriously vanishes as it came.
Other rumors of this same creature say it's only seen at night, and is spawned of the
nightmare of childen. Still other rumors say it is nothing more than a folk tale meant
to frighten young children into doing their chores without complaint.
In other rumors the baker's wife, Jill, has reported that her husband ran off in the
night, and that was why he was unavailable to make bread for the townsfolk this
morning. She asks that if any see him, to send him home straight away. Many a mouth
did not see a morning biscuit or loaf of bread this morning as a result.

// Anytime, anyplace, any level, any race, any gender. This event will continue until either I am begged to stop or the event comes to it's natural conclusion with heros. Anyone who wants to do anything with it will definately have a chance to.dr4g0nr1d3r_0f_p3rn wrote:// what level do you have to be for this and when is it happening ooc
// This is an RP event (with plenty of ruthless and sometimes near-meaningless bloodshed and loss of life included). If you are the kind who prefers the battling over the solving of mysteries, then this has that. If you are one who enjoies solving mysteries and such, you're in luck. That is also found in this event. (Note also that these elements are also found in Myle's Sarah Event. Though the two may coincide in some aspects from time to time, they are not one and the same -for now anyhow-. And anyone who wishes to can be in either and/or both events if they wish.)
// Hope this helps some. ~Demitri
(Now back IC here please. Any further OOC questions or comments can be PM'd to me instead. Thank you! )
*Hordack lays in a pool of his own blood after being attacked by the dog headed creature and thinks to himself*
"Foul dogheaded beast don't know what stinks more a Kazrite or a wet dog"
*pulls himself up to his feet*
"Well guess I need to look into this find some sort of weakness for this foul smelling dog and maybe talk with a few other's who knows about these creature's?"
*looks at his Rapier*
"hmmm I better get that bow crafted right away I will need it"
*opens a portal and heads back to the Temple*

Breathing heavily after a long and terrible battle, Caelyn wipes the sweat off her brow, "Dear Gods what was that thing!?", she whispered hoarsely. She looks down at her blade and sees the crimson streaks upon it. "It bleeds... If it can bleed... it can die... This thing cannot be allowed to continue attacking the citizens of Blackstone. I've hurt you, dog beast... I will not rest until you lay still at my feet"
Bandaging her wounds she goes in search of her fellow companions to rally them against this fell creature. A plan forming in her mind as she limps into the night. "I'll be waiting...." , she whispers.

Brynn and her company come to the Shining Order Monastery looking for information they think may be in a book at the Monastery. Brynn carries with her with a writ from the Warden of Blackstone Keep charging her and her company with leading the investigation into the events surrounding a creature they call the Jackal.
They are tasked with gathering information to either find a way to defeat this creature, or rid Blackstone of its presence and restore the relative safety that the Citizen’s have come to enjoy.
They tell the Sensei’s what they know about this creature so far. They tell what it has done in recent weeks in and around the Keep. Kyo, Qui Chang and Kimiko agree that the investigators will have the full support and cooperation of the Shining Order. Renai is on her way to Kildar to inform Head Sensei Lin-Wu.
One of the Monastery’s members, Rigrin, has had an interesting encounter with the Jackal creature. He shares his tale with the group. After much contemplation and discussion, the group feels it has many good ideas as to how to end the Jackal’s threat to Blackstone, or at the very least, more direction toward this goal.
-A couple pieces of information the group feels it has discovered-
The creature cannot simply be destroyed, as has been done already just to see it reappear and continue to fight. It seems the creature does not openly attack anyone who appears the size of a human child unless they attack it first. The creature ceases its attacks when a being the size of a human child talks to it, unless others continue to attack it.
The group determines that it must continue to research the background of this creature to find a way to permanently put it to rest. In the meantime, what is known about it is spread across the land in hopes of preventing or limiting its damage to Blackstone until a permanent solution is found.

A silent call across the miles comes to Brynn from her sister Rayne... Blackstone is in need... Come... Leaving her family in safety she opens a portal to the place that she thought she had left behind...but it is her duty... she swore to protect Blackstone and so she returns for a short time.
The portal opens in the temple and Gleanna motions her to hasten to the Warden's Office. Once inside she can feel the tension in the air. Catching up on why she'd been called she steps up and greets the Warden agreeing with the others present to investigate the Jackal's appearance. It is deadly she is told, it has killed many people with no reason or pause. Attempts by some to talk to it end with them lying in a pool of their own blood. It resists many magics and is so fast and dangerous that even weapons can barely damage it. But it can be damaged.. at least there is some way to do it.
Gathering her fellow Special Investigators of Life, Liberty and You, she does her best to begin to know who she will work and fight with. Some she knows... Lady Sabel and Mordoc, of somewhat checkered pasts, Hordack, her old friend, the new young cleric Aviania Adongala, a Panthan named T'Banyin and one she hadnt met yet, Caldur Luelle. As they went to visit Foxmore to see what he knew they gathered up a few deputies who will aid in the seeking of knowledge as to where this creature known as the Jackal has come from... its strengths.. its weaknesses... and more importantly... Why?
Foxmore tells them little save that he recalled some child's tale his mother told him. The investigators searched many libraries until they came across one... apparently only Volume One. There must be more, but they will be found. Leading her companions to SOM she was glad to find Sensai Kyo, Kimiko and Qui Chang there. Informing them of the dire situation in Blackstone, they immediately offered their help and contacted Lady Chiffawn of Starkson so that they too could become aware. After discussion of the book and perhaps story of the Jackal, it is agreed upon that after certain observations, a communication could be set up. The Jackal attacks a farmer in Skara Brae during this meeting. Brynn and her companions all run to the scene. Attempting to talk to it, Brynn closed in with the Jackal.. it continued to attack the farmer and Mordoc. She was forced to fight. With aid from her new friends, she defeated it... only to have it return again.
Shortly thereafter it disappeared again riding the lightning back from whence it came. Saddened by her knowledge of the story and the ferocity of the fight she and the others returned to SOM to recount what happened. It seems that it may better react to smaller people of good leanings... the Jackal seems to attack those who may appear to be bandit types or are neutral or evil in their leanings. It seems to attack those that attack it first. But this young monk, Rigrin seemed to almost make a contact of sorts. He is small almost childlike and a follower of Vor. He almost seems to fit the build of Cyramar, the child in the story of the Jackal. It is decided to try to observe only and attack only if attacked ourselves.
"This Jackal is the stuff of nightmares... perhaps is the nightmare itself", ponders Brynn., " Perhaps young Cyramar of ages past is lost in his own dreams... Only time will tell and until then we must learn and seek any further volumes of Cyramars story"
Brynn and her companions disperse in the night to gather more information and spread the knowledge they have to the Guilds in the Keep and its surrounding areas. She pauses by the State Building to post a few notices and notices young Caelyn waiting to talk to her. Smiling at her new protege, she walks with Caelyn back to the temple, telling her the plans for dealing with the Jackal. Before entering the temple, Brynn looks back at the dark and silent streets of Blackstone and nods. Duty calls and so must we stand.

For months T'banyin had circled the keep. The vacant housing on the upper walls, that was once used for the guards provided him as home after his cousin T'Gaoth dissapeared.
T'Banyin had watched from these heights, all the 'small folk' occasionally climbing the large meeting tree too, and observing in silence from its branches.
He watched the small folk, and even the kits of these humans, just incase to see his friends Poppi and Cale, but alas they were gone..
The Panthran moved across the rooftops until he was perched above where the chiclren played, when he spied it...
" N'Daeros!!" the panthran muttered as he dropped into the shadows.
The devil-god, enemy to all panthran was what he "Saw" before him, this one was the enemy of N'Tabbish, the deity that protected his kind.
A Dark and shadowed man, approached, and the jackal-headed beast turned and fast as lightening, attacked!!
The sounds of battle drew terror from the children, and the flash of thunder and lightening sent them screaming for thier homes.
T'banyin dropped down on the back of the jackal " You Die to me!"
the muscled beast rippled its shoulders and turned quick, but only to fling the small panthran from ist back, it turned its attension back to the human.
T'banyin slipped into the shadows of the building, and circled, coming out again stabbing for its back.. Once again, he was evaded, only tiny scratches appeared ont his creature..
he knew the dogfaced deity ( in his mind atleast ) was near invulnerable to mortals, and he must do his best to attack and defend these helpless ones.
His attacked continued until the human fell..
Unlike legends N'Daeros slowed hsi attack, and stopped fighting, until the two shamans began casting magicks.
T'banyin attacked again, drawing blood, and the shaman brought back to life the downed human.
The Human began his assail on the beats once more, and it turned, lightening flashed, and burned the earth where N'Daeros was, leaving a scorched march and knocking all back.
***
The Warden spoke about duty and honor and things, another dark one was there, this one was the " Eyes man" as T'banyin thought of him, he knew talking to animals like T'banyin, he knew sneaking like T'banyin, but used those 'devil eyes' above his head to spy on T'banyin.. it made him very nervous.
THe shamans spoke to the Warden, and papers the Warden said were special for killing "Jackal" as they were calling N'Daeros/
T'banyin needed one of those, he had learned in the underdark to read some of the things, taught by one of the drow slaves, oen that wasnt as evil as the ones thatt captured him and his kind.
Perhaps he needed to read this scroll to the beat and it woudl leave?
The Warden continued talking, as a new woman came in "Brynn" they called her and she seemed to possess what Poppi called " honor" .
T'banyin slipped to the edge of the table, unseen by anyone, and grabbed the parchment, then forgetting his hiding, rushed to the edge of the room.
The young shaman asked them " Why does that dark little man run and hide? " But the others were too involved in the Wardens words to notice.
Only the eyes of the shadowed man, turned in the direction of T'banyins hiding place. Those eyes made him very uncomfortable.
Leaving towards the tree, he waited, since he heard they woudl see the Elder wizard, he needed to know more about this devil-god that they would be fighting, and perhaps if he could he woudl lend hsi own blades tot he fray.
the Shadowed mans 'evil eyes' floated above his head, and he looked into the shadows of the tree, " Coming little spy? " the mans said as he headed towards the old humans shop. T'banyin growled, and the human growled back mockingly and walked on laughing.
That man did not understand panthran protocol.. woudl he ever learn?
In the old mans shop they all spoke of 'jackal' and the elder man told of a picture-book of 'jackal' T'banyin could not help it, he finally stepped from his shadows, " is not a good thing is N'Daeros!, is a dark and evil, is a Deity thing!!"
Some of the group were slightly starteled, others asked small questions but now, they spoke of Bordermarch.. and finding a paper thing.
***
T'banyin talked occasionally, he followed and hid, but he didnt sense a threat anylonger from these, and if he had to help them defeat this dark deity, he must let them see him.
the "brynn-woman" showed T'banyin the book, T'banyin told her of N'Tabbish and of N'Daeros, but then seeing the pictures and listening to Brynn's tale fo the Kit of this picture book, his understandings of what happened, began to come clear.
Seeing the book's final pages and the drawings of Vor and Vor's emblems reminded him of the paper things he saw while bathing in the " big stone hut, in Skara Brae"
He conveyed the information to Brynn and the others, and their journey began to Skara Brae.
***
More talking, and T'banyin explained how the thing fought to one of the monk-people, then they saw the hin, which was not Cale.
THe Hin said to hurry out because the beast-jackal was there it would nto fight the hin, but it did fight the first Dark man.. like a bandit, from the story.. yes it was all becoming clear to the panthran.
As the Sun rose, lightening flashed, and the hin's attempt at communication stopped...
Two dragons, that took human form, always being annoying always rude, always running too fast...
The Blue one attacked Fawn of the Isle!
She fought back and eveyone began to fight the blue dragon, the Red dragon ( how could they be kin? ) stepped in and fought saying he protects his brother, T'banyin thought this all extremely foolish, since the jackal-thing, which was not N'Daeros, shoudl have beent he focus, again, a demon woman appeared tot he aid of the foolhearty dragons whom were now felled, soon she woudl be fallen as well, The monk bound them and bade the shaman girl to bring them back.
He told them to leave and not return.
Into the Monk-people's stone hut, with the big bath, they went again.
Talk of the picture book was to come from a boat soon.
T'banyin listened, and talked some on this, he would go to the stone village again, and watch the kits of the humans close, and see if this 'jackal' returned..

~~I am the cat who walks by himself~~
Kyo sends word to Brynn that the books they were waiting for have arrived back in the Monastery Library. Brynn arrives with her group of investigators and soon the text they are looking for is discovered.
Shortly after reading the book and refocusing its direction, the group heads out. In the middle of the town of Skara Brae, just in front of Cranford Jordan, the beast appears again. This time, it doesn’t leave alone. It appears as though it has taken the creature, T’banyin with it. The group is distraught for a short time, but soon regains its focus.
The beast shows itself and attacks many times in the days the group is searching. They do not know if it is trying to stop them, or direct them in their quest. And so, they press on.
After much exploration and the discovery of more information, the group has several pieces of the puzzle and a picture begins to form. An item is brought forth apparently from the dreamscape. Too many missing pieces still and the group becomes sidetracked. They agree that consulting a Dreamagi may be the best route from here.
The Monks will meditate and ponder what facts have been revealed in hopes of regaining focus and defining the path more clearly. Brynn and her company will seek a Dreamagi and glean what information they can from that side of the investigation.
In the meantime, the attacks on the people of Blackstone continue and a companion is now missing.

T'banyin stood with them in Skara Brae, they has witnessed a beetle of sorts carrying many packs in the direction of one of the buildings, and then lightening, made it vanish!
Was it more of this Dreamer?
They gathered infront of a door after that and began more talking, when he lightening struck T'banyin!
***
He rubbed his eyes with his paws, and there he was in an endless field, before him was a battle which seemed to continue on and on without pause or break in it of anykind. To is left an old man, ( was it that farmer with the cattle? ) ran in terror from N'Daeros... A n'Daeros, there were thousands upon thousands here. The Woman with wings, they called her Gleaana? She came to help the farmer, a red and dark flash came from her hands as she touched the n'Daeros, and the old man's pitchfork penetrated its heart. Gleaana and the farmer vanished, but as they did, two more n'Daeros sprang from the shadows of the fallen one. Battles like this continued all around everywhere, various peoples many many battles, and yet as always from the shadows of the fallen, lightening crackled upwards building two more of these n'Daeros beasts.
They did not see him? He was not hiding, but it would be easy to hide so many shadows loomed.
T'banyin stepped into the shadows and they grew from his own shadow, tiny t'banyin's surrounded him, like a circular wall, protecting him? Yes, they were, they drew tiny kukri's and always kept thier backs to T'banyin. In the distance soemthing glowed and shafts of light and shadow danced and played around it. The Sleepers ignored it, but the n'Daeros they fought gave it wide birth, the combats stayed far from it.
Stepping away from the shadows and his tiny self protectors, T'banyin made his way across the plains of this dreaming battle. These sleepers, and n'Daeros were blind, they saw him not, only saw their aggressor, and some times another which appeared to aid them. As T'banyin approached the shafts of light, which he could now see came from a large perfect diamond, T'banyin could 'feel' that, it was not soft and whispy like these dreamers, the light that came from it struck him and made him feel stronger, this was real!
In the Distance, a n'Daeros turned and looked at him, it had stopped its fight with a young shaman woman, and turned to see T'banyin, its eyes locked with his as T'banyin picked up the diamond.
The young woman that battled that n'Daeros vanished, and this n'Daeros... no. not right "The N'Daeros " began shoving its way through the other sleepers, and the other n'Daeros.. as its touch hit the other n'Daeros, they rolled and and churned like a whisp of mist or smoke and dissapated, thier sleepers vanishing fromt he fight.
It Saw T'banyin, it knew he was here T'banyin hid again and the tiny T'banyins around him stopped, and looked up as the 'real' N'Daeros approached T'banyin. the tiny shadow-t'banyins looked in awe and fear at the approach of the beast and it seemed to grow in size before him. Wait.. the light from the gemstone, it made the others give it space, right?
T'banyin held the diamond up to the beast, and the tiny t'banyin-shadows drew thier blades and once more circled around T'banyin is if to guard him. T'banyin drew one Kukri, and held the diamond outwards like a torch towards the N'Daeros charging him. the tiny shadow-t'banyins dove at the beast cutting and hacking but only slightly slowing it, its touch dissapating them like the lesser-n'Daeros had dissapated from its touch before...
THIS WAS NOT A DREAM!!!! this was real! this was not like the n'Daeros from the Stone village, nor from Skara Brae, this was Solid, like T'banyin.. T'banyin would fall and die, except, for N'Tabbish.
T'banyin knew N'Tabbish would come, legend always said she would, N'Daeros woudl come for the panthran, and N'Tabbish woudl save them, and fight it.
He could almost see her, it was like...
N'Tabbish drew a bow and as fast as lightening, sent six arrows into the back of the head of N'Daeros!
An attack like this would have killed the largest and most ancient of any mortal dragon, but N'Tabbish's arrows met N'Daeros, a dark-god and enemy of the panthran.
N'Tabbish, the goddess of the panthran stood now inbetween T'banyin and N'Daeros.. the sleepers in the plains that still had not seen anything but thier own fights, shimmered, and they were now, gone, in place of them were n'Tabbishes! many of them, as euqal in numbers as the n'Daeros images thier moves in battle of both, mimmicked move for move, of the 'real' beings.
N'Tabbish now with kukris in hand slashed at the beast, T'banyin held he diamond tightly it nearly cutting into his paw, light beams blazed from it, each beam striking N'Tabbish seemed to strengthen her, each beam striking N'Daeros made him shrink back as if pained.
This diamond was special, it was shaman-magic!!
Soon all the n'Daeros, and the real N'Daeros turn and focus on N'Tabbish, the many shadows of T'banyin also try to fight as well but as before they are whispy in thier attack on the beast.
Thousdands upon thousands roll from the plains now targetting N'Tabbish, her hand raises, and time slows like a and grinds to a near stop, the N'Daeros and many n'Daeroses which would be lightening fast, now are slowed to a snails crawl, she turns to T'Banyin and says "T'banyin you have done well here, now you must awake, go my child, ... Go!!"
The last word 'go' rippled the world around him, lightening flashed, and he was surrounded, but sleepers? no, by the humans and elves and people of the Stone Village.
He was back in Skara Brae.
Questions came fast on the little panthran, from everyone, almost as fast as the n'Daeors were!
T'banyin started to answer, but he could not contain himself, he has Seen N'Tabbish!!
She was not just a shaman's story for the kits, but T'banyin always knew inside she was real.
T'banyin began to tell the tail of his experiences in the sleeping world, as he continued the tale,
a n'Daeros-jackal appeared and began fighting the man-who-has-tasks.
Just as fast as it arrived, N'Tabbish appeared, and T'banyin fell down to his knees in awe.
Others tried to speak withher, and she smiled, and said T'banyin had done well, and once more vanished.
T'banyin explained abotu the diamond, and ampther woman, wearing Brynn's armor came forward and said she was to take Brynn's place in the search and destruction of 'jackal.'
She showed a butterfly-thing to T'banyin and then a paper, the butterfly was insubstancial in a way, it was semi-real as if it did not belong here.
T'banyin walked to the place he had vanished at, and also the place he arrived at, and sai to them " T'banyin here, and go to sleep place, and then come back to sleep place, in same spot, is gone? was here? "
They gathered around where he was, and suddenly lightening struck!
They were all in the plains of the battle, as before the n'Daeroses battled, but as when T'banyin left they now battled the n'Tabbishes.
T'baynin called to them to see!! He was showing them all the battle, then the real N'Tabbish came again to the place and spoke to them, they talked of an imbalance in the worlds of wake and sleep, that the "dreamer" whom had long died now had a 'second' and this one was responsible for the imbalances. N'Tabbish told them that things of the dream realm needed to be here, and things, of the real world needed to be there.
T'banyin tried to give N'Tabbish the diamond, but she whispered to him " Thats yours, for your world, its where it belongs".
She then stopped in mid sentence to the others, as the sun in the distance began to set in the realm of dreams, " I.. I must go, and you must too.."
N'Tabbish vanished, and her 'images' that fought the thousands of battling n'Daeros-jackals began to fade into mist, the n'Daeros without something to focus on, faded..
T'banyin was awake inthe spot again, the others were waking too as if all had fallen asleep there on the road.
The-woman-in-Brynn's-armor called Caelyn pulled something from her pocket and frowned.
It was the butterfly. T'banyin's ears perked briefly as she quietly muttered, ' but I tried to return it to the place.. but, oh, my real body was here with it so that was only a dream."
But it wasn't a dream for T'banyin. it was reality as real as this place.
T'banyin was questioned more and he remembered the rahkasha the felinods from beyond the bridge and said he would head there.
"There are Strengths in numbers, " was said, and all began to follow the panthran as he walked some tiems and ran other times, towards the Bridge of Doom.
The battled alongt he way hideosu nightmares, ( was something trying to keep them from the place? or was the veils of this world and the sleeping world coming apart )
They fought past plant-creatures and finally to the bridge, undead swarmed it,a nd the young shaman woman, healed T'banyin. Fawn-lady took onthe form of a rahkasha and they cornered one. they Questioned it, and it reluctantly gave information in a promise for them to leave, and leave they did.
The plant people T'banyin's father had took him to long ago, when he was a kit. he rememebred the ruins, and maybe if they showed up now after being hidden again, thats where the dreamer was?
T'banyin once again led them off, towards a forest and Fawn-lady found a talking tree man. It has no desire to help anything without roots, and T'banyin did not like it much anyways. It worried him.
"to SOM" they continued to say, so this tiem, T'banyin followed them back to the stone bath house with the people called 'monk'.
monk=called-Kyo spoke of writings of another 'monk' shich pointed them to Fawn-ladies isle.
The travel was making T'banyin weary and as hey arrived and began going through books, the panthran's eys fell as he curled up nxt to a fireplace.
This was not the plain of battle. This was the jungle where he grew up as a kit, before the drow came and took them all away. It was happy and his father was telling sotries to the kits and cousins, and T'Gaoth was there but young and a kit again playing with T'nandi the family's panther. It was a happy time and a happy memory.

**This took place before T'banyins disappearance**
Word came to Brynn that the books from Kildar had finally arrived at SOM... right after yet another attack in the Keep. Brynn gathered the Investigators and they all headed there. There among the shelves of SOM they found another book. It was not a second volume to the first that had been found but more of a notebook detailing the experiences and trials that Cyramar had made. He called himself a dreamagi. A note in the back of the book from the hand of a monk described where this book had originally been found. (A contingency had been placed on it to arrive in the nearest library.) The note said that the book magically appeared on a shelf in an old monastery where there had been a rakshasa insurgence. The monk took it with him when they left.
On their way to the rune gate in Skara Brae the lightning came again. It was not the Jackal but something else... a giant bug with packs on its back that moved with a single minded purpose then it disappeared again behind one of the barns. After searching the barn they went outside when the lightning came yet again. T'banyin was taken! Brynn was devastated. Yet they had no choice but to move on in the hopes that they might find a way to bring him back.
Being the only clue they had, the group decided to search the Old Temple and the Outer Walls. They even captured a rakshasa but they weren't answering. Yet the Jackal appeared again and attacked and this time Brynn could not kill it. It had changed... adapted...somehow... after it vanished, in its place where the lightning had struck was a slightly singed scroll. It described the need for a couple of items and a location.. most of the information was burned away or faded with age.
A crystalline object was described. The only place Brynn and the others could think of were the Crystal Caves nearby. Quickly making their way to the end of the cave they came across an odd looking crystal jutting out of the floor. It seemed so isolated. Aviania the cleric cast the spell described in the experiment logs and lo! A crystalline butterfly, made of the stuff of dreams is brought into ours. Now to find the other thing described and a location... as the group left the cave they were set upon by various nightmarish things. Many of which are usually found in Shalnath's dungeon. Nightmares indeed.
The group returned to SOM to put their heads together in safety and decided to continue the hunt for more information about dreams and dreamagi. Ever wary for when darkness falls. Brynn returns to the temple and receives a message. Her heart grows heavy. Summoning Caelyn to her, they go to see the Warden.
Her family is in danger and she must go and help bring them to safety. While doing so Brynn will continue to hunt for any information about these things. Brynn nominates Caelyn to take her place as the head of the Investigators and the Warden agrees. Turning to Caelyn she hands over all the items pertaining to the investigation and a few pieces of equipment that may aid her. "It is your duty now, Caelyn. Protect Blackstone and our companions. Seek out the source of these nightmares and try to end it if possible. Knowledge is the way. Find T'banyin. And more importantly take care of yourself. I must help my family and I do not know when I will next return. I charge you with these things. You know all that I know. Be safe and be careful.", Brynn told Caelyn. Nodding once to the Warden and giving her sisters Rayne and Salem hugs, she clasped the arm of Caelyn and stepped into a portal and vanished.
Caelyn stands with the Warden, Rayne and Salem who all give her small words of encouragement. Hope behind all their words. Yet she stood alone in her thoughts. A heavy burden to bear yet they and Brynn believe in her. She strengthens her posture and takes her leave. Walking past the tree in the square she pauses and slumps down on a bench, overwhelmed.
A moment passes then she stands up, a resolute look on her face. "We will get through this", she mutters to the wind. Hefting the new armour to her shoulder she heads to see if Gruther can adjust it to her body. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

After gathering some Investigators in the temple, they could hear thunder within... Searching the Keep high and low they find nothing and decide to check Skara Brae where the Jackals have been seen frequently. They find Lady Fawn and her companion Sheldomar who had been attacked. Caelyn and her companions spoke to Cranford the farmer about the frequency of sightings in Skara Brae. Showing Chiffawn where T'banyin had been taken by the lightning, yet another flash of lightning brought what they discovered later to be N'Tabbish, a favoured deity of T'banyins. Shortly after that appearance, T'banyin himself was returned by the lightning to the incredible joy of his friends bearing a pure diamond that he claims protected him.
He explained what he saw in the dreamscape in his Panthran way and said he saw an endless battle, constantly balanced out except for one in particular. The "Big N'Daeros" as he called it. Perhaps this is the very same Dreamer Cyramar? Before more consideration can be made, a Jackal appeared again on the attack. This time however, N'Tabbish made another appearance and annihalated it. Understanding T'banyin the group looked around where he had vanished.. many sightings had been there.. could that be where the rift is? Suddenly they were all whisked into a dream... the same one that T'banyin had just returned from. N'Tabbish came and gave a bit more insight into the situation.
It appears that there is an imbalance and that things like the butterfly crystal needs to be returned from whence it came. The reverse needs to be true as well. They also learned that Cyramar is long gone and that these new occurences are from a different Dreamer. After returning from their communal dream, they travelled again to the place where Brynn and the others had found the scroll. Caelyn relayed this information and the group yet again tried to capture and question a rakshasa. It merely acknowledged what they already knew. That a monk had searched here for things and left. Caelyn suggested a return to SOM, monks dont always join the monastery but its hospitality is notable so this monk in particular may have travelled through there. After a couple of side tracks they finally returned to SOM where Kyo and Kimiko offered tea and rest.
It seems Kyo and Kimiko have discovered a note in the back of one of their books written in the same hand as the others. The monks name is Marlat and he was a servant of Vor. He mentions a summoning ritual expressed in a book from Starkson in their Laws. Caelyn asked the Sensais if they could continue to search for more works written by that monk. They humbly agreed. Caelyn then asked of Chiffawn for permission to search the libraries of Starkson. She agreed and opened a portal for Caelyn and T'banyin and Aviania while she and Sheldomar travelled ahead to prepare for their arrival.
Nothing was found in the libraries inside Starkson but Caelyn asked about the Arcane Order. No answer was given. Fawn led them outside and to a tower. Inside there were more shelves of books. After sometime of searching, Sheldomar had found it. Caelyn asked to see it. It appears to have been steps in how to summon dreamagi and control the stuff of dreams. Incredible will power and inner balance were only a few things. Again the need to return things not of our world and to retrieve those of ours was expressed. Sadly and frustratingly, Caelyn explained that the most important bit of knowledge had been torn out of the book.. How to summon the Dreamagi. Crestfallen, she and her companions continue their search.
