Bugbear Cave - Companions Deleted?

This is a weird bug that I always forget about, but this time it deleted the first Mercenary I ever bought (and I didn't even get to see him in action! ). So now the bug must die!

Anyways, in Bordermarch you get a quest from Grum Balder to hunt down some Bugbears. You enter the cave and watch a cutscene, and all is well. BUT the second you enter the main cave all of your companions will be despawned/removed from the game.

So any summons/mercenaries/whatever will just disappear. It doesn't say anything in the log about them unsummoning or despawning. They just disappear.

I ran into this recently too. There is a workaround, if you already know about the bug: use a portal scroll to get out of the cave. But it would be nice if it was fixed.

I ran into where u just see the rats, no cutscene. I had to log out and back in. Henchman often doesn't follow in with u. think 2 out of 3 times recently he didn't at least. I play a lot of characters so do a lot of early game stuff a lot.
