BSK Update 11-16-19
Added new Party based Stronghold(Shadowkeep).
Added new weapon feats.
1.(Various types)5% chance to to d6(PC Level) damage on hit.
2.Amplify(5-50% in 5% increments) boost to base weapon damage.
As of right now, these weapons are not forgeable.
Current drop areas/mobs:
The higher the level the better the chance.
Completing Heroic Party Events.
Shalnath.

If I'm understanding this right:
1) 5% chance of 40d6 damage on-hit is an average of 7 damage per hit. This is worse than Flame Weapon which is an average of 12.5 damage per hit.
2) Assuming base damage is the damage dice like 2d6 for greatswords, a 50% increase is an average of 3.5 extra damage per hit on greatswords, significantly less on one-handed weapons. It's worth something if it doesn't use up the on-hit cast spell property, but without forging it's no use.

1.The average would be 120 for a level 6d(40) on activation.

2.What I meant was the base damage your character does. So, if the weapon has the Amplify Perk with a 50% stat, a hit with 80 base damage would be 120 instead because of the perk.
The weapons also get enhancement/damages/keen/massive crits etc.

Oh wow, then amplify is great. But the 40d6 only triggers 5% of the time, so you have to divide the average damage per activation by 20 to get average damage per hit. Flame Weapon triggers every hit.

In general, for PvM Flame Weapon and Darkfire are better than the new elemental weapons since they do 1d4/1d6 + 10 Fire damage per hit vs 40d6 damage per 20 hits (on average). However in PvP (or against any mob with Fire DR), the 40d6 weapons are better since 15/- Fire DR makes Flame Weapon useless and reduces Darkfire to 1 Fire damage per 6 hits (on average). In that case the 40d6 weapons are better even if they only activate 5% of the time.

What is stopping you from casting Darkfire or Flame weapon on these items?

Only one On Hit property works at a time, for both armor and weapons. So Flame Weapon and Darkfire won't work on any of the new weapons even though they can be cast on them. That's an engine limitation so I don't think that it can be fixed.

I am not using the on hit property, that's the good thing about this.

I tested one of the weapons today, the bonus damage works properly with Flame Weapon.

Actually I looked at the logs and the damage doesn't quite work properly with Flame Weapon. When the weapon perk triggers it increases the Flame Weapon damage to match the weapon perk damage. So not only does the perk work with Flame Weapon it makes it overpowered.

A battleaxe with Arcane, so 40d6 Magical damage when the perk activates. At the time the only buff on the battleaxe was Flame Weapon.
Edit: Just tried Flame Weapon with a Firefly spear (40d6 Fire damage). Only the damage from Firefly applied, so it's not a problem for the Firefly perk.

This looks like a bug in how it reports the damage in the log. It isn't actually doing the damage it says it is.
It is adding both together and then reporting that as the damage for each.

I have changed how darkfire/flaming weapon applies their damages, so it should report correctly now.
