This might count as asking for spoilers, but is there some kind of item or action that is required to enter the secret area? I've just finished exploring the whole of Aildrek's Tomb and couldn't find any new doors or portals.

You might want to add some new search gear in Akons so one does not have to make a special search toon. A special helm or a wand of reveal ...

A cleric with the Trickery domain (which your party will need) will be able to find the entrance using currently available gear, other builds will need to invest in search.
