How do I choose a god after character creation?

Hello. I made a character, deleted said character, then made a new version of the character a few days later. I kind of just through I was never very lucky with my god. I never got the cool stuff that they do. I finally made it to the Oasis where there are temple quests. Everyone says I am not a follower of whatever god. I would like to get some of the goodies that I see people get from their gods to. What do I do?

You visit one of the temples and change to that god. At least that's what I've heard.

The priests there just say I do not worship whatever god they serve. There isn't anything they do to change my deity. I know there is one in (location redacted), but that is for a god that I can not serve. My class is alignment restricted.
