BSK 1 Den Mother
my roomie was on last night as a level 1 character and picked up the den mother quest in town then went to kill her it did not spawn the hide for him and for some reason he has one of the wastes quests in his journal but never been to the wastes the character just made level 3 before he died tonight.

I can verify that and to piggy back on it - the quest(s) do not seem to update i.e. you have the initial convo w/Hornrich then immediatley return to him, and you still have the initial convo - he never asks if you've collected the hide.
