Dezba Shadowfist

Post by HelloBSK »

Dezba grew up in Cormanthor near Elventree. Her family was a humble one and not of any status in their community. They kept to their selves and lived by their family’s traditions. Dezba was raised to be humble. Her family did not have a lot of money and therefore set their expectations low. This did not sit well with Dezba. She would often dream of being an adventurer and a great warrior, one who was both admired and feared! She “acted outâ€

Dezba Shadowfist left her hometown on a spiritual journey of self reliance and awareness. This was part of the journey one must take in becoming a monk. During her journey of self identification she met a boat captain who offered to take her to a foreign land called Blackstone Keep. When she arrived in the keep she was amazed at the wonders of this new land. She met several people who needed assistance with various jobs. Dezba felt this is where her journey has led her and so she decided to stay and help as she could.

The first job she took was from an old farmer whose livestock was being devoured by wolves. She was to hunt down the den mother and bring back her hide as proof of the extermination. This task was challenging, but she succeeded and felt herself growing more powerful. She continued to focus on perfecting the martial arts and ways of the monk as she satisfied each task.

The next request was to seek out the reason for the undead on Blackstone Road. Dezba was traveling with a new friend and as they were exterminating the undead ran across a Fairy Dragon. Being new to the land she was unsure whether the Fairy Dragon was attacking her or the undead. In her moment of confusion and excitement of the battle she attacked the Fairy Dragon. As they battled an elf appeared and asked her why she was attacking her pet. As Dezba began to explain her misunderstanding the elf drew her sword and cut her down. Dezba only being in her 2nd season in the keep was dropped by the first blow of the elfs sword which was consumed by some sort of magical flames. The burning of the blade caused her to be unable to move once she hit the ground. Her new friend healed her wounds and helped her to her feet. Dezba immediately approached the elf and swore her revenge. As she turned to head back to the keep to rest and heal her wounds she could feel the hatred towards this elf growing stronger and stronger.

Once Dezba healed from her wounds and was able to continue her investigation of the undead in the area she headed out with burning in her soul she had never felt before. Unsure if this was from the magical fire from the blade which struck her down or the hatred consuming her every thought she felt herself crushing the undead beneath her bare hands with much grace and precision. She had never fought with such intensity before and she was becoming fond of her newly developed power. Dezba solved the investigation and completed many other quests during her time in the keep. During this time she also took the opportunity to find out more about the elf she encountered on Blackstone Road.

Now she knows the name of her new enemy and has spent time in the shadows watching her in action. The hatred began consuming her every thought and causing her to react to situations with far more anger then ever before. She was once a humble monk on a quest of self awareness and now she is consumed with a hatred that is starting to become her identity. She has seen this elf in the keep and has reminded her of the revenge she plans to take. The elf does not seem concerned with the pain that she intends to deliver. This causes Dezba’s hatred to grow even stronger.

As Dezba hunted the Shadows she started to learn from their ways and has mastered the art of hiding in the shadows. She has mastered this so well that she can hide right in front of someone. This new skill has caused Dezba to imagine the pain she plans to deliver on a whole new level.

What was once a humble monk tanking on jobs to help the citizens of a newly established home is now a hate filled monk focused on mastering the art of killing without being detected. By stealing the life from her victims before they realize what has happened…

While hunting the Ettins looking for the spear of one called Gorgo, Dezba ran into a halfling by the name of Jason. Dezba spent much time with Jason and hunted with him often.

Jason was an assassin who was able to paralyze his victims by catching them by surprise and striking in just the right spot. While hunting together Dezba studied her friend to learn how and where he was striking to achieve such a result.

They traveled together through many adventures and assisted each other in their development. Dezba shared her new found understanding of the shadows and how to hide while being observed and Jason shared his knowledge of assassination. Together they made a deadly team and by sharing each other’s knowledge they made each other more deadly then they would have become without the other.

After Dezba mastered the art of paralyzing her prey, she would strike from the shadows paralyzing one of her enemies and then leave them to watch as she appeared around the victim’s posse, killing them one by one never hit or seen. Once the party was destroyed she would look the paralyzed victim in the eye to try and catch a glimpse into their soul as she mocked and tormented them. Once she was done with her fun, she would put them out of the misery never taking her eyes off of theirs.

One day while hunting the Ants with Jason, she noticed he was killing her paralyzed victims before taking care of the posse. She explained her strategy and asked that he not do that, or at least save them for last as they do not strike back, but the others do. He acknowledged her request and for a time did not do it any longer.

Then as they hunted the Umgas Dezba noticed that Jason was back to his old ways, killing the paralyzed victims before taking out the remaining party. Dezba gave her friend a reminder of the strategy and asked that he stop doing that. This time her friend ignored her request and continued in his way. Dezba provided a more direct request this time sparing any pleasantries or friendly tones as his actions were not only putting his own life in danger, but hers as well. When her friend did not respond and continued to kill the paralyzed, Dezba made a very clear threat to her friends life by telling him if he continued to kill the paralyzed that were unable to attack them, while there were others who could he was putting both their lives in danger and she would have to kill him. This time Jason realized that she meant business and honored her request at least for the first group. By the 2nd group he must have decided that taking orders from her was not something he was going to do. After witnessing his refusal to honor her “logicalâ€
