PvM High AC Tank Build - Wizard 13 / Pale Master 24 / Rogue 3

This is a PVE High AC Tank Build designed to be leveraged to hold melee agro in groups while other DPS characters clean house picking off monsters one at a time. This is not meant to play solo.

Strengths: Very high AC, immune to critical hits, 50/+20 damage reduction to all physical damage, 10/- resistance to most elements, Evasion with fairly good reflex saves, 40 spellcraft for increased saves, 30 UMD for wide gear selection, 40 spot + 40 disarm trap + Elf Always on Search mode allows you take point in dungeons with little fear, and a pocket pixie or knock spell can pop open any lock.
Weaknesses: Low HP, AC is significantly lowered if flat footed (be sure to have Freedom of Movement), Low attack bonus.

With store bought basic attainable gear and no buffs: (+6 robe/+6 tower shield/+4 deflection/+4 boots of sun soul/+5 agility belt/haste item/+2 dex ioun stone):
AC: 73 (83 with expertise)

Buffed + Basic store gear:
AC: 87 (97 with expertise)

Not having seen what is possible on this server in terms of crafted items yet, there's potential for a lot of growth with:
A bard in the party to add +5 Dodge AC
Items with more than +5 Deflection/+5 Natural Armor
Chest and Shield items with more than +6 AC bonus)
And boots with higher than +4 dodge AC.

I've found this has been sufficient to tank most of what this server has thrown at me as yet with basic store purchased gear, up to and including the Lost City. It has hit a wall with the Mind Flayer city though.

Would appreciate thoughts and comments.

I guess I could add some playing notes.

I would start this as a ranged support to a melee friend, using your Mage Armor/Protection from Evil/bulls strength/Flame Weapon/Magic Weapon/Keen Weapon buffs on them while you sit back and fire crossbow bolts and use fire wands and other consumables as your arsonal of destruction.

The earliest you can consider hopping into the front lines would be somewhere around level 12 when you can equip a tower shield and you have access to stone skin. With basic gear and buffs you should be able to get your AC to the 50s at this point and try to get your hands on haste gear as quickly as possible. You'll probably wiff a lot till you get Weapon finesse at 18, but you should be able to hold the line.

Also, prep hold monster as a spell. Comes in handy in a lot of extreme circumstances in the early game.

After that, start taking point for the party. You're not going to impress anybody with your damage but you should be able to let mobs take their best shot. By the time you get to the oasis, your AC should easily be in the 70s and you likely won't experience anything threatening to your character physically.

This build might work well while levelling but it will struggle with high end PvM.

AC: 10 (Base) + 14 (DEX) + 8 (Tumble) + 2 (Feats) + 14 (PM Bonus) + 3 (Shield) + 30 (AC Bonus) + 4 (Haste) + 5 (EMA) = 90
HP: 242 (Base) + 280 (CON) + 40 (Feats) = 562

With Dodge and Improved Expertise it can reach an effective 101 AC, which isn't enough for high end PvM.
With full party support it could reach an effective 119 AC, but without Epic Dodge that still won't be enough for most boss runs.
For an AC tank I'd go with Wiz3/PM24/SD13 in order to get Epic Dodge, but a DR tank would still be more reliable for high end PvM.
