PvM Cleric Build - Cleric 38 / Monk 1 / Wizard 1

This is a generic DC Cleric with the ability to use arcane banners. It has maximum DCs for offensive casting and can also be used as a healer during high end boss runs. The only downside is that it can't party with mages, since a badly timed arcane banner will dispel your buffs and leave you vulnerable.

If you want extra carry capacity you can drop CON to 16 and raise STR to 10. Personally I only use this build on boss runs so the extra carry capacity isn't as useful, but for general use it's something to consider. Note that Divine Power boosts your STR to 18, so if you have 6 STR then Divine Power is the only buff you need to hit the STR cap.

Toughness is another feat that might be worth taking if you really want extra HP. You can switch out Extend Spell or Zen Archery for Toughness, but personally I recommend dropping Toughness.

Although this build lacks UMD, the Wizard level gives access to all arcane wands and most arcane scrolls. Make sure that your Wizard level is generalist, do not pick a specialist school. The bonus spell slot is useless and ultimately it just restricts your scroll usage.

In offensive casting mode your main spells are: Blade Barrier (42 Reflex), Hammer Of Gods (40 Will), Harm, Heal, Ice Storm, Implosion (48 Fortitude), Mass Heal, Searing Light.
In healing mode your main spells are: Aid, Greater Restoration, Heal, Mass Heal, Remove Blindness/Deafness.
When healing, all of your Level 6 - 9 slots should be healing spells with the possible exceptions of Greater Sanctuary or Word Of Faith depending on your opponent.
For high end runs I recommend carrying multiple stacks of Greater Restoration, Greater Sanctuary, and Resurrection scrolls.

With +12 CON, +12 WIS, a +20 AB sling, and +6 AC items, it will have the following:
AB: 25 (BAB) + 20 (WIS) + 20 (AB bonus) + 1 (size) = +66
AC: 10 (base) - 1 (DEX) + 20 (WIS) + 8 (Tumble) + 24 (AC bonus) + 4 (haste) + 1 (size) = 66
HP: 316 (base) + 400 (CON) = 716
Fortitude: 22 (base) + 10 (CON) = 32
Reflex: 16 (base) - 1 (DEX) = 15
Will: 22 (base) + 20 (WIS) = 42

The banner area effect is large?

I know when you use it during Shal runs it rebuffs Eima. Its definitely an area effect. I'm willing to bet "colossal"

Nice build Yunim! You think coodination/timing can overcome the debuff risk? I'm thinking a heads up to know when to rapid-rebuff or isaac robe.

It's definitely large enough to affect both the mage and the cleric.

Teamwork would make it less of an issue, but as a healer you won't need a banner as often as a mage does so you will waste rounds rebuffing when you could be healing.

Recently I have updated some of my PvM builds and so I decided to post the updated versions on the forums. There aren't any major differences, most of the changes are small such as different skill progressions or feat rearrangements. These builds are made for myself rather than for general players so you might wish to alter some things to suit your own needs.

With +12 CON, +12 WIS, a +20 AB sling, and +6 AC items, it will have the following:

What does the Monk level bring to the table?

I was thinking of releveling my Cleric and adding 1 level of Paladin to gain Holy Avenger crafting.

Wizard is better than Rogue, which I was going to add for UMD just for wands.

Monk give the huge AC bonus (+20)
Wizard allow the use of arcane banner in the middle of a fight to replenish spells.

The main reason for Monk is Evasion, AC doesn't really matter for this build.
Access to Holy Avenger is useless for this build because it doesn't use melee weapons, so Paladin isn't a good class choice.
if you don't care about Evasion you can make a Cler38/Bard1/X1 instead.
