Removing AC from weapon

There are several high-end weapons for sale at Akon's with AC bonus on them. Also, several randomly generated weapons in both random loot and in the Blackrose merchant usually end up with AC bonus on them.

This seems somewhat illogical to me. Weapons should not have AC bonus as well as armor shouldn't have damage bonus on them. Also, it's very difficult to remove the AC bonus from a weapon. The only way I know of is using the random removal forge stone, which means your chance of success is very low and you're more likely to remove the bonuses you want to keep, rendering the weapon/armor useless.

Other bonuses that you don't want/need can usually be removed with the removal forge stone with the proper bonus forge stone, but not AC on weapons or attack bonus/damage bonus on armor.

Could this be fixed?
