Well, if you're not heavy on crafting skills, the Dak Rune comes in handy on gloves and bows. (If I remember correctly, you can Dak-rune a bow?)

On the Socketed Shield you buy in the Smithy by the harbour, the description says it holds three socket gems. It only holds one, though. So, either the description is wrong, or two of the sockets have fallen off....
