I have to use valuable points when levelling my Rogue to get UMD, it's a class skill, giving that to other builds on an item is like having your cake and eating it. That's my opinion anyway

A dex based Rogue/shadow dancer with good hide/invisibility/move silently etc etc with massive sneak attack with dual rapiers (there are lots of Rogue gear in game) . Harder for first few lvl's if not in party and easier against baddies without true seeing. just get in the habbit of being invisible....
