All the speed test's I've tried have always been pretty reliable (sp?), but I haven't tried that many.

I've always been very glad with the nwn wiki, it has every 'thinkable' spell, class, race and everything in nwn, explained. Also, if you're into scripting, you should have the lexicon.

Yes. NWN2 goes up to level 20, right now. They'll probably raise it to level 40/60 or more in an expansion pack or a patch. But for now, it's level 20.

I would really recommend trying a fighter/cleric or else just go mage (Sorcerer/Wizard). Imho Cleric/Mage is a weak build, as posted before. And now you got advice to where to hunt, too. But I guess it's all in vain.
