I must be missing how it was abused. It randomly removed stats off an item so there is no way to know what it will remove. It could destroy a nice piece you are trying to get a couple stats off of or it could take just the right stats off... Indeed, I am also curious! Driller, is there another way ...

I went to try to save the forge stone in the bau, specifically the gold forge stone and when I tried to put it in the bau, I caught it again. Do not move or perform any item.

Do you mean that you are unable to select Mestils Acid Sheath as a spell? Or that when you cast the spell that you cannot see it? Hovering the mouse over item turns red. When trying to put it on my bar, it says I can not use it.
