10 Fighter / 2 Rogue / 28 WM is far better then 12 Fighter / 28 WM.. you get +4 AC, Evasion, UMD...

Jumping onto the crafting question.. is the altar of Lia (For example) based on your crafting skill as well? or is it by character level?
Or do they always enchant a plain armor and weapon with the same stats?
