1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
Since 1.69 is supposed to be the final patch for NWN.
I decided to do a nice fresh install.
When I try to log in now I'm told "cep2_v.1tlk" is missing.
The talk file CEP2.1 uses is "cep21_v.1tlk".
Looking for a little help...

That is odd, let me double check to make sure I changed that part.

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
I got the same problem Distant Traveler , missing the .tlk file . Its kind of odd because I play on a couple other CEP2.1 servers w/ the 1.69 patch and I have no problems at all . I am however running the platinum version of NWN and had to instal Biowares Crit rebuild patch so thats where Im going to start looking for probs at .

You wont find a tlk file in the Hak folder its in the tlk folder . Noticed that the tlk I have is CEP21_v1.tlk and the one BSK says I am missing is CEP2_v1.tlk..Hmmm

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
I know bud...but...if you ue the auto install or just put the files in the 1 .hak file then the single .tlk file will go with em.tropiofCancer wrote:You wont find a tlk file in the Hak folder its in the tlk folder . Main issue is...dnt allow auto install and watch where the .tlk file goes. Took me good half hour to get it sorted, even then a pain in the ass.

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
My Install:
- NWN Platinum
- 1.69 critical rebuild (saved to disc, everyone should have a copy)
- CEP2.1 + the corrected file “cep2_top_v21â€Â(odd that nobody mentions this one)
Dan8145
For the record CEP21_Full_c.exe put everything exactly where it was supposed to for me.
(just so folks know it is possible to use this option)
tropiofCancer
Glad to hear that reinstalling CEP20 got you back into Blackstone Keep.
I'm gonna hold off just a bit till I hear back from driller about what he was looking into, any brand new players to NWN multiplayer online will just grab the latest CEP(2.1) and find themselves in this exact situation.
From what I've seen so far this situation is unique to Blackstone Keep.
Just waiting to see if issue gets resolved.

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
putting the old CEP in, isn't necessary really.
the tlk, or talk file, directs text to the game, and allows monsters, and items to show up properly in the toolset. So not only is it new, but it is also perfectly backwards compatible for someone using an older tlk.
So I did some creative editing to get in.
I noticed 3 problems here. the tlk is incorrect, and the top hak is also not 2.1
Also the cep2 addon hak for tilesets is redundant now and no longer needed, as those two tilesets are in bioware's 1.69 final.
Since I started with a clean install also to check out things, I did not have the TLK bsk asked for, or the top hak.
What I did for a solution, is copy, paste and rename the tlk and top hak etc the tileset hak, I just created a new hak, with a txt file in it, and named it same as the tileset.

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
Well I already put my two cents into this already .... but to make your life easier ... and if doing a clean install I suggest this again ...
For Clean install of NWN >>>
1> install Nwn and patch to 1.69
2> install cep v2.0
3> install cep v2.1_c
4> install your overide files if you have any
This will just make your life easier and without the headache .... seems so many are having with the install of the new patch and cep v2.1_c

Re: 1.69 & 2.1 file names ?
Blackstone's CEP hak order and tlk are set exactly as the CEP2.1 starter module. So not sure what the deal is here.
Thanks.
